troubleshooting of ignition system

Engine works but fails to start-due to failure in fuel system engine backfire but fails to start:- due to ignition lag & valve timming. Engine runs but misses.:- couse could be defective spark or high voltage cable. Engine runs but backfires:- backfires is a pop or bang in the exhaust manifold. It can be coused by several conditions in ignition system. If the ignition timing is considerably pffer if position crossfire occurs ignition may occur result before intake valve closed

engine crank normally runs but fails to start

There is no spark during the sparktest, if the oscilloscope fails to show a secondary voltage pattern , there are several couses:- if you good spark , the ignition primary & secondary circuit probably are ok.
